The drawing was something that I made for a student. I had hoped to use the same coloring style that I had used in the previous picture, but it looked horrible for this so I decided to go all the way and color it. Mediums used: Pencil and paper, Photoshop CS. Time taken: 20-30 minutes (drawing), 1 1/2 - 2 hours (coloring).

A dragon is usually represented as breathing fire & having a reptilian body & sometimes wings that feature in the myths of many cultures.

I wanted to create a dragon that distinguishes itself from the snake-like beast in myths. I gave my dragon heavy fore & hind legs to achieve this.

zeph, if you are out there, also, i've really been allured by your work recently. the sensitivity and grace you instill in your portraits...
it may not seem like much, but this piece was sort of my homage to how much i admire you...obviously, i'm not good enough to do what you do,
but i feel like i've learned so much from observing your work*
