Artist Description
ElementorCookie one of my chars in a story i'm writing... experimental colouring again ^^' i think it turned out quite good =3
dano 2007-07-08 18:56:49 Looks cute, but if you want your character to pop out, use a deep sea blue in the background.
ElementorCookie 2007-07-08 19:01:08 she's sitting in a tree... blue would make her pop out, but it would also make the picture rather strange because trees are green ;3
dano 2007-07-08 21:40:22 Not true. The color of the character is red. To make red not blend in with the background (and not have a christmas theme) you need the color that is on the opposite side of the color wheel, and there are not leaves on the branch she's sitting on, it could be fall. Sure you can have green, in photoshop, use your selector tool and select shapes that look like leaves or what would look like green clouds. Look at the comics you have, no comic artist gets by with just drawing a cool character, you need to have a little less than equal background to balance it out. Don't get me wrong I see your side of the logic, your illustration is good, and your color work is off to a great start, keep up the good work. P.S. You don't have to be so defensive, for years people told my art was crap, but I got over the frustration and now I can learn from every critque.
Def Character 2007-07-09 05:11:13 Try working in layers to get more control over the BG you choose ^^
Wicked_Lady 2007-07-09 05:31:33 Hey, I really like it :) Nice experiment. And don't mind about dano, he doesn't know the colors of the color wheel, it seems. Green does happen to be the oppisite color of red. If e thinks it's not, well.. XD just ignore. I like the char, is she the one that's gonna die?
dano 2007-07-09 23:37:32 I have a color wheel hanging next to my computer!
ElementorCookie 2007-07-10 07:11:25 okay calm down now, i know i need to work on my colours, anything about the character itself that's wrong that i should know? ^^'
dano 2007-07-10 08:55:25 The character is fine; nice big round butt, nice curves, cheast area is around the right size.

Superbike actionpose. I've already uploaded this one in the past, but I've changed a lot to it. It's now coloured for example. It's not my best I think, but I had to upload it, cause it looked so cool^^.
I haven't drawn in a very long time, i know, i suck =p

just a simple picture, had quite an issue with drawing the outfit fold for the girl on the right tho ^^; i dunno can't think of any way to fix the problem beside for taking a shortcut and drawing those shaded areas.

if you can point out the mistake in the outfit, i will be surely grateful. especially if you draw the lining for me to see ^^;

o yea, i was also trying out different hair style too. its my first time drawing the hair like the girl on the left. i know, i need more practice =(
I've been trying to practice more complex poses, too. This isn't too hard, but I started by sketching the torso instead of drawing the head first. It really helped.
hey mira
well people long inuf on this site know where this is about .. but for the ones that are not that long here, let me explain ... there is a irl friend here on this site .. and he always draws these bio dwarf thingys .. and well everytime wen its his birthday i make a fan-art like thingy of his creations .. last year i made a 3d army of the little buggers .. but this time i made "how would a bio dwarf look like in a manga style" .. and well here it is XD .. injoy :D
This is a page from my fantasy story.
My entry for Nyanko-chan's mega group collab. A chance to draw one of my guys, and you know I had to draw my favorite sweety, Simon!

This only took a few short hours, pencil sketch in my sketchbook, lightboxed onto card stock and pencils tightened, then inked with good ole india ink and brush, tossed on the copy machine and transfered to card stock, then marker painted with Prismacolor markers, white gel pen and white colored pencil.

This is my watermarked larger version. Nyanko gets the resized unstamped version for the collab.
