Where are some good sites to read manga?

Post by Fritzsholyhands » Mon Sep 21, 2009 2:24 am

I'm looking for a site that has a whole bunch of manga to read. Also, some suggestions of just a couple that I should get into.

If this is already a topic I'm sorry, I didn't see another one like this.

I knew I should have trusted google!
At least I don't have to worry about being on the wrong site anymore.

Thanks! =]

oh I totally skimmed over the recommendations part
well, Video Girl AI is really good if you like the whole HS drama with a doll that saves a boy from his crappy luck with girls thing.
Rurouni Kenshin is great if you like samurai/ semi historical fiction ( actually, I didn't have any interest in Japanese history or Samurai until I picked this series up, so its good regardless)
Although I haven't read the entire series, Monster is an awesome thriller/horror series. It keeps you on the edge of your seat for sure!
And lastly, Bakuman is good...if you like manga! Its a manga about creating manga. But its less of a guide and more of a story of two kids who try to get into the biz. I anticipate every weekly release of it.

I'd say that Kenshin is mostly good if you want romance, I don't think the action is very good (I like Fullmetal Alchemist for that, so easy to follow!) Naoki Urasawa did Monster, and he is awesome all around, I love 20th Century Boys!

Actually, onemanga no longer offers manga for reading. They made an announcement a while ago that they're not allowed to continue the scanlations they do so you can read manga on there anymore. Same with mangafox, when I tried to read some bleach it said that the product is licensed and no longer available.

I don't know about the other websites, but I'm pretty sure alot of them are being closed down because of these problems with copyright or what ever.

I do know that if you want a manga website for weekly updates of manga such as Bleach, Naruto, Fairy Tail and such, mangastream.net is good, but it doesen't offer many different mangas, and it only has the latest chapters of the most popular mangas, but it has the fastest updates.

If anybody finds a website that isn't having any licensing problems, please let me know, it would be a horrible if all of them are being shut down.
