How many layers do you usually use for one of those colored illustrations? And how many tools (like, only brush tool or do you use burn tool and smudge tool, 20 different brushes etc)? 360 ... mmm... I prefer the PS3 myself a,d its funny that since you dont want to play Online you vhoose the 360 since .. well, to play online on 360 you have to pay 60 bucks a year whereas its FREE on the PS3. awesome, TRS. I too like the last one. Maybe you should do grays then use a multiply color layer to see which values should be changed. That way you get b+w practice but also a colored piece... that probably wouldn't help your coloring a whole lot though. so whichever you thinks needs more work, si...

Yeah working in color would make the piece take much longer. I usually google some interesting photos and if theyre in color I turn them to grayscale and play with the contrast so I can see the facial textures better. Im trying to use the color picker from the photo a lot less since its a bad habit,...

Cool yeah I added a few things, the temple on the far left also got a few upgrades. Another portrait, its good to show you can get some realistic stuff done too. Grayscale is useful because I can get it done REALLY quick and it gives your design a chance to give a lot of information you otherwise wouldn't have.

Not to diss on colored work though, cause I did some too, lol
