New One Shot: Grimm

Now, after finishing my first one shot ( which everyone should read and give me super feedback on! :D) I decided to start drawing out my next idea which hopefully advances my skills even further. Now I will give a brief synopsis of this new story: Grimm is about... you guessed it.... the man charact...

Re: Requesting Anatomy Critique

Okay! It's not bad, not bad at all. But a few things that you should watch out for: - The main problem I see here is the head size. The head is too big and must be scaled down towards the body. This is a different case for characters with certain deformities (chibis and such). - Now from what I can ...

Re: First art post

Not bad, not bad at all. Is is just a random OC or something for a story you're working on? Always interested in new and upcoming talent. Also suggestions for the drawing. Try to use shading to make the body more rounded and look more three dimensional. Also folds as well. It all helps the character...

Re: NFBF&F! (working title) - new story with updates!

Ohhhhhhh! Not bad not bad. I wanna see some full figures though! haha. And type up that long post again! I want to read the whole concept. If it's matrix-e then it has something to do with questioning reality? I'm just guessing here. I want to see more though, the art is promising as well, only you ...

Hello forum goers!!! I finally finished a complete work and I have to share it with you all! Unfortunately I wish I were better but this was really a good experience to actually finish a project. Re: Digital art programs

Just to try it out at first I'd say grab a copy of Manga Studio 4 EX, it should be cheap since the 5th edition is out and it still holds up as a great art program. But if you wanna pay the big bucks then you can drop i thin $250 for manga studio 5 EX. Also if you're planning on doing digital art I w...

Re: Questioning peoples looks...

Are YOU happy with the way you look? Don't let others get you down over trivial stuff like looks. I'm not telling you not to shower ever again but just dress how you want and whatever makes you feel happiest haha. That's the key isn't it? How you feel about yourself. Me personally, also long as you ...

Re: Opening a Comic Book/Games store. NEED CUSTOMER ADVICE!

@Ceta I can understand where you say that it seems a tad pricey but just think about it. For 20.99 a month you can take out 2 graphic novels/Manga and 1 DVD set at a time. Once you're done, you can come back the next day and just get a different set, or even come back the same day. It's unlimited re...

Re: Opening a Comic Book/Games store. NEED CUSTOMER ADVICE!

That's a generous reply and exactly what I wanted! Thank you :) The two systems are the main thing that is causing strife with me. It's hard to decide which one will be more generally accepted without isolating customers that might wither find it too complicated to just something they can't get behi...

Re: Need help with setting up scenes in my manga

Not bad, how long have you been drawing? Just curious, I ask everyone this haha The first isn't bad but try to work with a more readable angle, his body is kind of all over the place haha. For the perspective one, for a first try that is pretty spot on, It's a simple way how to do it right? Lol But ...

Re: Need help with setting up scenes in my manga

Proportion is a huge thing for Mangaka to overcome, BUT you have to remember that proportion changes with style of drawing. Not to say that a huge hand compared to a tiny head is alright, but there is so much room for you to distinguish your own kind of proportion. But, onto your main question of ho...

Re: Need help with setting up scenes in my manga

This is a difficult question to answer. The best advice I can give is practice, practice and more practice. Look at other manga for references or read a book on perspectives. Learn how to exploit the full use of vanishing points in your artwork. They are the MAIN point of perspective drawing, especi...
