Well, I haven't posted anything in a loonnggg time... so I thought I probably should update... I've gotten a Graphics tablet in February and have been using Paint Tool Sai for some stuff... but it's taking a long time to get used to. I'm only posting one digital pic.. http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71...

well... again, if you don't try, you'll never know... you should try starting to color Here I experimented again... My art teacher has been telling me I should try to color with no outlines for a long time... but I've always been too terrified... Today I kinda gave in and tried it... I think it turn...

no, the percentages refer to the shade of gray. With prismacolor markers (and colored pencils, i hear) there are three different sets of gray, warm gray, cool gray, and french gray. in these sets, all the shades of gray are ranked from 10%-90%. 10% is the lightest shade of gray, then 20% gets darker...

okay, well it depends on the picture, but it tends to be a long process, andmy favorite... I suppose I'll talk about the picture I just loaded with the blue light effects (since it's my favorite...) Since I happen to like that character's eyes very much, I started with them. I did a layer of the lig...

yes, I don't doubt that. I'll probably find that they are something I would like, and I'll broaden my horizons eventually... for now though, I'm sticking solely with my manga, and have yet to get bored, but it'll probably happen at some point in the future.

and thanks

oh yes, of course. it is all techincally the same thing. the terms just really refers to different nationalities, and slight differences in art styles. The reason I prefer manga is that the art style is more favorable to me, and because I have the unfortunate (and probably incorrect) stereotype stuc...

well then. I suppose I am now left totally and utterly baffled. I remember very clearly what I read, but what you researched and pasted makes much sense. Consider me bewhildered.

ah, didn't read the quote, though you were referring to what I said about CLAMP... I know that's true, so I think I was just being kinda nitpicky because with different people doing the effects, if the group isn't coordinated perfectly some of the tones in the panels may give a different feel than t...

oh yes, I'm well aware. I know how most groups work like that with the art, though I'm not so sure about the story. Based on the CLAMP interview I read, I'm merely drawing the conclusion that the way they organized the story between them is to just have one girl be in charge of the story and I suppo...

it's been a long time since i've had a discussion where the other side is being reasonable. Congratulations. I'm treading in icy water from here on out, because I don't have any firsthand experience in any professional art or manga industry (unless you count doing an illustration for a childrens' bo...

hhmm... you have a point to a certain degree. I still hold fast that every author has a strong emotional attatchment to his or her story, but I can't deny that there is some validity to that statement. However, if that's true for manga, then it's also true for any books. movies, tv shows, and grafic...

Well, that was a bit harsh. And your "big money" theory is a bit off. I depends on a the manga and the publishing company, but you implying that everything read in manga is only meant to bring the reader to pay money for it and etc, goes against EVERYTHING I stand for in storytelling. First of all, ...
